Mobile C-Frame and X-ray solutions draw crowds at PPMA
Yamato Scale Dataweigh UK demonstrated the world-class capabilities of its leading automatic weighing machinery at this year’s PPMA show.
Visitors to PPMA came from a wide range of companies in a variety of sectors including bakery and snack food manufacturers, pet food makers, drinks companies and research and technology organisations.
The PPMA show brings together a high-quality industry audience in a single place. Because of the quality and numbers of visitors to PPMA, from across the supply chain, Yamato chose the show as a platform to launch its innovative X-ray and C-frame pneumatic support solutions.
Andrea Spencer, commercial operations manager for Yamato Scale Dataweigh UK, said: “The quality and range of visitors to PPMA makes it the ideal show for us. It was extremely well received, and we engaged with a range of existing customers and new prospects, which you wouldn’t find anywhere else.”
Yamato’s innovative new automatic inspection YX20 X-ray equipment is compliant with BRC, Tesco and M&S standards, and features an advanced linear array with proven inspection algorithms.
An X-ray system adds another layer of important checks to your processing and packaging line. Following in line after metal detection and checkweighing, the X-ray machine provides an additional deep visual check in real-time for foreign bodies in your packaged products and automated rejection. This flexible system suits a variety of industry applications, helping to reduce waste and costs, improve efficiency, enhance food safety and ensure compliance.
Andrea Spencer added: “In Q3 of 2018, the most recently available government figures, there were eight significant instances of product recalls due to contamination by foreign bodies such as glass, metal and plastics in the products. Having X-ray capability in the production line saves money and time by helping to prevent costly product recalls like these.”
Also on show was Yamato’s C Frame System. It is a unique, innovative pneumatic frame that is easily manoeuvrable in small areas – allowing you to raise and lower multihead weighers into position on the production line. It is ideal where space is at a premium and where production lines are in close proximity. One system can be removed and cleaned while the others remain in production – minimising the impact of downtime and maintaining productivity.
The Yamato team also showed visitors to the exhibition how its weighing technology, combined with expert sales and engineering support and spare parts availability, creates a true one-stop-shop for food processing and food packaging solutions.
Taking pride of place was the EPSILON, Yamato’s newest multihead weigher. The new Dataweigh EPSILON series combination weighers bring together the best features of the SIGMA Series and Yamato’s intelligent OMEGA series in a single affordable machine.
Intrinsically hygienic and safe in structure, the Dataweigh EPSILON is IP 66 compliant; making it ideal for harsh environments such as fresh produce factories or frozen food processors.
Yamato demonstrated its total weighing and checking solutions and how they can be implemented in all parts of the packaging process in all the main food processing sectors – salads and fresh produce, IQF and frozen food, snacks, nuts and confectionery.
