Top safety accreditation for Yamato

Yamato Scale Dataweigh UK [www.yamatoscale.co.uk], has been awarded accreditation from Alcumus SafeContractor for achieving excellence in heath and safety in the workplace.

Alcumus SafeContractor is a leading third-party accreditation scheme which recognises extremely rigorous standards in health and safety management amongst contractors. It is used by thousands of organisations in the UK including SMEs and FTSE 100 companies.

Employing 27 members of staff in the UK, Yamato is principally involved in the industrial process sector specialising in the food and manufacturing industries.

Yamato’s application for SafeContractor accreditation was driven by the need for a uniform standard across the business. SafeContractor accreditation will enhance the company’s ability to win new contracts, and its commitment to safety will be viewed positively by its insurers when the company liability policy is up for renewal.

Alcumus SafeContractor is a third-party accreditation scheme that assesses the health and safety arrangements, policies and qualifications of contractors. Under the SafeContractor scheme, businesses undergo a vetting process which examines health and safety procedures and their track record for safe practice. Those companies meeting the high standards set by Alcumus SafeContractor are then included on a database which other companies can access to vet potential contractors before they even set foot on site.
