As a highly regarded, and well-recognised, acknowledgement of best-in-class quality standards, Yamato Scale Dataweigh UK, has successfully achieved the latest version of the ISO9001:2015 accreditation.
The company is committed to complying with legal requirements and to the continuous improvement of its systems and performance. Objectives are set and monitored in order to drive ongoing development and improvement.
As part of its commitment to quality, Yamato’s management system – which previously complied with the standards for ISO9001:2008 – has been re-assessed by TUV Nord against the requirements of ISO 9001:2015.
Employing 27 members of staff in the UK, Yamato is principally involved in the industrial process sector specialising in the food and manufacturing industries.
ISO9001:2015 is designed to ensure that Yamato meets the needs of its customers and other stakeholders, while at the same time meeting all the statutory and regularity compliance requirements relating to automatic weighing machines and food processing.
A stringent independent audit in June confirmed that the management system conforms with the requirements of the audit standard. The assessment evaluated the scope of Yamato’s system, including processes and equipment, internal and external issues, interested parties and associated risks and opportunities that might affect the outcome of the management system.
The assessment also confirmed that Yamato has effectively implemented a well-planned management system to achieve its objectives and highlighted the capabilities of the management system to ensure consistent compliance with applicable statutory, regulatory, contractual and other obligatory requirements.
Sales enquiries, quotations and orders are all effectively managed via a process sequence using SAP ERP/CRM software. Machinery assembly, installation, service and repair are also carefully managed. In addition, infrastructure and work environment requirements have been addressed satisfactorily and workshop areas are kept clean and tidy.
Yamato commercial operation manager Andrea Spencer said: “We are delighted to have transitioned to ISO9001:2015. It demonstrates to all our customers how seriously we take the delivery of quality and performance in both our products and our customer service delivery.
“At Yamato we endeavour to provide a cost effective, high quality service and supply equipment that meets latest wider environmental and emission control requirements for our target customer base, in addition to being environmentally friendly and energy efficient.
“We also look to provide employment for local people and support local businesses with product and service purchases where possible. And we aim to create a positive working environment which encourages development of the skills of each of our employees. This is reflected in the quality of our service. This latest successful ISO9001 assessment recognises that we are meeting all these aims.”
